This course provides delegates with a Level 3 Paediatric First Aid Qualification which is mandatory requirement in the Early Years Apprenticeship Framework for ‘Childminding’ NVQ. This course has been designed to comply with the NCMA guidelines and meets Ofsted requirements.
This course is for people working with younger children under the age of 8 years old or working towards an NVQ in Childcare and Education or Nursery Workers, including:
• Childminders/Nannies
• Au pairs/Parents
• Teachers/Classroom assistants
• Playgroup assistants
Topics include the role and responsibilities of the paediatric first-aider and providing first aid for an infant or a child who is unresponsive and breathing normally. The qualification also covers how to administer first aid to an infant or a child who is choking or suffering from hypovolemic shock and how to treat minor injuries.
