Who is this qualification for?

The objective of this qualification is to support a role in the workplace. It is designed for learners who currently hold a licence from the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to work as a Security Officer and need to be brought up to date with the new licence-linked qualification requirements.

How long will it take?

To complete this qualification learners are expected to undertake approximately 9 hours of learning. The SIA stipulates a minimum of 7 hours contact time if self-study is undertaken. Please refer to Highfield's qualification specification for further details on self-study.

These include:

Terror threats and the role of the Security Operative in the event of a threat.
Minimising risk to personal safety.
Actions to take in relation to global (or critical) incidents.

Understanding a Security Operatives’ duty of care with regard to vulnerable people.

Assessment method

This qualification is assessed by practical demonstration and multiple-choice examinations.
