The Level 2 Award in Security Guarding is a course designed to meet the needs of learners requiring a qualification enabling the application for an SIA licence for Security Officers. It is based on the SIA specification (2009) for core competency training for security officers covering the necessary understanding of the security industry and subject related security functions.
We aim to provide the learner with the basic knowledge and understanding required to ensure that they are able to deliver a professional service as a security operative and to address the SIA licensing requirements. The objective of the course is to develop the learner's understanding of the roles and responsibilities of security officers working in the private security industry and the relevance of regulations within which they must operate and to develop the learner's knowledge of health and safety in the work place including awareness of emergency procedures as well as many other skills required to perform the task of a Security Officer.

UNIT 2 - Working as a Security Officer.
