Who is this qualification for?
The objective of this qualification is to support a role in the workplace. It is designed for learners who currently hold a licence from the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to work as a Close Protection Operative and need to be brought up to date with the new licence-linked qualification requirements.
Learners must be aged 18 and over.
PLEASE NOTE:
YOU CANNOT ATTEND THIS COURSE WITHOUT A VALID IN-DATE FIRST AID CERTIFICATE (Min 12 Months Remaining).
BASIC FIRST AID IS NOT SUFFICIENT:
LEVEL 3 (RQF/QCF).
LEVEL 6 (SCQF).
3 DAY FULL FIRST AID QUALIFICATION.

FREC3 Requalification - £150 (only when booking Close Protection Refresher, normal price £300).
How long will it take?
To complete this qualification learners are expected to undertake approximately 34 hours of learning. The SIA stipulates a minimum of 19 hours 15 minutes contact time if self-study is undertaken. Please refer to Highfield's qualification specification for further details on self-study.
Topics covered:
· How to conduct effective search procedures.
· Understand how to keep vulnerable people safe.
· Terror threats and the role of the Security Operative in the event of a threat.
· Safeguarding techniques in relation to spiking.
· Physical interventions and the implications and risks associated with their use.
· Non-pain compliant skills to protect self and others.
· Considerations for protecting and mitigating risks when protecting a Principal.
· Action to take in relation to criminal incidents.
Assessment Method:
This qualification is assessed by multiple choice examinations and practical demonstrations.
